Cherating

Just less than 50km north of Kuantan is Cherating. Cherating is the perfect antidote to frantic city life. Here, wide gently sloping sandy beaches extend as far as the eye can see, and like a mirage seem to disappear in amidst of sea spray. The enamored and fabulous sparkling seas, pristine beaches and cool breezes decided to undertake the Club Mediterranean first Asean venture, it is today the location of many hotels and resorts.

First popularized by the back packers now these communities enjoy their place in the sun, even as recent developments brought in new handicraft shops and cultural establishments. Batik painting and pandanus leaves-woven handicraft remain popular souvenirs from Cherating. There is a cultural Complex in Kg. Cherating to show the cultural extravaganza and the delicacies.
